Update, Sept. 2004: George and I are retired at Sun City Vistoso north of Tucson in the beautiful town of Oro Valley. After my back surgery (another one) two years ago I decided to quit the consulting business for good and concentrate on regaining my health. Six months of that and I am back teaching computer courses in our state of the art Sun City computer lab and taking tap dancing (no jumping, just heel lifts).  That as well as exercise, bridge playing, socializing and building my own web site ( http://home.comcast.net/~plc2267 ) keep me very busy. This fall I am planning a 90th birthday party for my mother and we do plan a trip to California at Christmas time to visit my girls and their families. George is also busy with his computer and he helps protect Sun City by being a member of the Posse.

7/18/2009: Received this update from Vera: I've been living in Torrance, California since 1962 when I married a California boy. We helped each other finish college and we both became high school teachers. We have two children and three grandchildren.
I'm retired now and having fun learning new things and meeting new people in a variety of volunteer jobs all over Torrance (a cool and congenial beach town in southern California).
We've enjoyed many splendid journeys to different parts of this wondrous globe but we decided that there was no place like home after my husband was hospitalized in Rome for 19 days in January of this year. We were never so happy to touch down on American soil once again.
I feel lucky that I still have many of my childhood friends of gold and have even traveled in and out of the country with some! Thank you to all the people on the committees and the webmasters who have devoted so much personal time and energy to plan our fun and festive reunions for half a century.
God bless our troops and God bless America!

9/5/2009: Received another update from Vera:
Dear Friends,
I'm sorry but I won't be able to attend the reunion because of Bob's health. We were just starting to recover from that miserable experience in January and gaining hope for a future of better health when the rug was pulled out from under our feet with his cancer diagnosis.
I know that the reunion will be a big success.
Please wish everyone well for me.
Stay healthy!
Vera

Tracy D. Hall, April 12, 2004

Hi, I'll make this a simple update from our family. I made the first reunion in 1969, and havien't been back sence. I've been married 41 years to the same Native American woman from Cochiti Pueblo. We have 5 children(youngest was killed in a car wreck),8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and two in laws.
I retired in 2003 after 38 years as an electrician in the Albuq. area. I have lived in Albuq. since 1947. Spent time in the Navy. Joined the Navy with Dave Hinchcliff and Dave Hebron, both went to Highland. Have never seen Dave Hinchcliff sence and but have seen Dave Hebron several times. He retired from Sandia Base and I think he lives in Albuq.
We have lived the same house since 1964 although we are thinking about moving to Cochiti Lake , maybe next year.
I guess that’s enough for now, but will probably attend this year’s reunion, 45 years, may not be around for the 50th.
See ya

I went to UNM, was a Pi Phi, married and moved away. Returned to Albuquerque in 1973 after a divorce, then in 1974 got remarried to Roger Beaumont, a professor of history at Texas A&M University. We’ve lived in Bryan-College Station ever since, maintaining our sanity by frequent trips to Austin, Houston and Dallas, and fairly regular journeys to Europe for Roger’s research. I worked as a writer and communicator in the A&M System from 1976 until this year, when we both retired. We’re now finishing a book together, traveling a bit, and I’m doing some consulting and serving on various community boards, mostly focused on children’s issues. I’m also on the board of the Foundation for Women’s Resources, which oversees several leadership programs for women, and which created the new national Women’s Museum in Dallas.

All of the girls are beautiful singers and hula dancers.  Of course, the boys are both musicians and singers. We live in the Hawaiian Islands part of the year and in NM the other time. We both love to travel, so when we’re not in Hawaii or NM, we’re roving around the US and Canada

I entered the “semi-retired” ranks at Cal Poly Pomona on Sept. 4, 2001. On 9/11 I was in Spartenburg, SC, on the second day of a three week speaking tour for the American Chemical Society (ACS) in 14 cities and 6  states. Children: 2 Update: Sept. 2004: Marie and I live in Albuquerque during the winter and in Hood River, Oregon in the summer.  I am semi-retired after selling my commodity brokerage company three years ago.  I still do market price forecasting and write a monthly newsletter for my former company as well as doing some outside consulting. We have two grandsons aged 2 and 2 1/2 years as of this writing.  The older grandson is in Albuquerque where my younger son lives and the younger grandson is in Brooklyn where my older son lives. Our health seems good and we take advantage of this to hike, ski and, in my case, windsurf. I very much enjoy visiting with my former classmates and would welcome visits either in Albuquerque or Hood River.

Corine and Bennie

email:
benandcofrizz@comcast.net

August 6, 2009 Update: Married Bennie Frizzell, a Mississippi native and began our lives living in the Land of Enchantment, where our son Keith and daughter Beverly were born. In 1965, Bennie went to work for NASA in Slidell LA, and we moved to the land of swamps, mosquitos, bayous, and hurricanes. (How I longed for the mountains and the desert of my home state.) In 1967, we moved to Jackson MS, where our children grew up, went to school and college, and married soon after. Both our children and their spouses live in Lexington KY, where they have been associated with AFLAC (can you hear that duck?) Excuse me for saying this, but we have wonderful children and they married wonderful people! We are thankful for this.

I worked for a small private company for 25 years whose owner was a Manufacturer's Representative, and I learned to read mechanical plans and would bid and sell equipment for new construction to mechanical contractors. In June 2000, I was asked to serve on our church ministerial staff as Director of Single Adult Ministry - I had been teaching and directing in the single adult area for twenty years as a lay person, so this was a real honor for me. By December 2005, I was approaching that 65th birthday and believed I probably needed to retire from this particular ministry, so I began working with our Counseling Pastor as his ministry assistant. I hope to continue working until I'm 70.

Bennie and I have invested our lives in serving our church - singing in the choir and teaching and going on mission trips. We are thankful to God and have been blessed.

I have probably written too much, but it's been 50 years and I wanted to get caught up. I am looking forward to seeing all of you in September!
